To buy a hunting license, all hunters born on or after January 1, 1975, must complete hunter education, unless they’ve previously held a valid hunting license.

Some hunting activities in Idaho require a permit such as hunting waterfowl, stocked pheasants and sage grouse, as well as hunting with archery equipment or muzzleloaders.
