the Maiden Hunt
In the spirit of keeping the hunting tradition alive in Idaho, Idaho Fish and Game followed expert hunting mentors with individuals that showed an interest in learning how to hunt. Follow these newbie hunters on their journey in hopes of bringing game meat from the field to the table.
Episode One - Kori & Katie
Follow Kori as she takes on her first deer hunt. Led by Katie Oelrich, the two head into the Idaho Wilderness in search of new experiences and hopes of harvesting a deer.
Episode Two - Gretchen & Henry
Experience nature in a whole new way and embark on a journey with Gretchen and Henry as they take on their first deer hunt. Led by Ted Koch, these beginners learn what hunting is all about in hopes of carrying the tradition forward.
Episode Three - Clara
Follow Clara and her father Kurtis as they embark on a turkey hunt into the Idaho wilderness in hopes of a successful hunt.
Episode Four - Ryan
Join Ryan as he embarks on his first-ever deer hunt with his hunting mentor. Origins of food, building resiliency and grit, reflecting on modern life’s leisure: These are just a few perspective-changing experiences Ryan observes as he learns to fill his own freezer with wild game meat.
